Wisconsin Higher Education Grant - WTC
WHEG - WTC has committed 156.29% ($19,464,699) of its appropriation with 21,367 awards. This is 123
fewer awards and 11.54 less committed than at this time last year. In 1998-99 the program had
committed 167.83% of its appropriation at this time last year. The final commitment for 1998-99 was
169.33%.
Wisconsin Higher Education Grant - UW
WHEG - UW has committed 138.30% ($26,138,268) of its appropriation with 22,325 awards. This is 299
fewer awards and 5.18% more committed than at this time last year. In 1998-99 the program had
committed 133.12% of its appropriation at this time last year. The final commitment for 1998-99 was
135.54%.
Wisconsin Tuition Grant
WTG has committed 109.22% ($21,475,033) of its appropriation with 10,112 awards. This is 504 more
awards and 4.45 less committed than at this time last year. In 1998-99 the program had committed
113.67% of its appropriation at this time last year. WTG commitment cannot exceed 122% per statutory
requirement.
Status of Applicants
Applicants for 1998-99 totaled 163,305. The number of applicants through April 28, 2000 for 1999-00
is 175,430. Last year at this time there were 163,157 applicants.
