Dear Colleagues,
I am pleased to announce that the Higher Educational Aids Board has developed a World Wide Web
page. The site address is:
Please take a look at it and let me know what you think. We have included
program and contact person information, Board
Reports, Monthly Memos, Statutes,
Administrative Rules, links to other sites, and more. There are
several other items that we are considering adding to the site in the near future. Before we make
additions, I would like to get your feedback on the existing page. Please email or call with your
input. Thank you in advance for your time and consideration!
Other Points:
- 1998-99 notification lists and other associated reports are scheduled to print 9/1/98,
9/15/98, and 9/29/98.
- The 1998-99 vouchering process began August 4, 1998. We will continue to run the
vouchering process on Tuesday and Friday nights of each week. Please keep in mind that it takes two
to three business days after the vouchering process runs before checks are physically printed. So
please plan accordingly. Contact me if you have any questions.
- Please update all student residency statuses by sending a separate memo to the
general HEAB email address. Include the student's name, SS#, and resident or non-resident status.
These changes will be processed by the program coordinator. As I mentioned in the
August memo, if it is not clear based on the statutes whether a student is a Wisconsin resident
or not; please have the student complete the Residency Status Form and submit it to the Higher
Educational Aids Board for our committee to review.
- We continue to send "confirmation of transmission received" notices known as Data
Receipts. These let schools know when a record has been received by HEAB, along with the number of
records, and the type of records. If you are not certain whether or not HEAB has received a
transmission that you sent, please refer to your Data Receipts. If you still have questions, please
call or email.
- Those of you who are currently sending FM and V requests directly to Barb Moermond,
please begin sending those requests to the general HEAB email address:
HEABmail@heab.state.wi.us. This will allow these
requests to be logged and tracked. Thank you.
- Please be aware that at the end of 1998-99 there will be a June 15, 1999, deadline
for submitting all adds, changes, vouchers, and refunds.
- I have sent out the request for the Wisconsin Student Support Information System
(WISSIS) data to individual independent schools, the UW System, and the WTC System. Just a reminder
to the independent schools and the two systems, the deadline to submit the data is 10/15/98. UW and
WTC schools data is submitted by their System Administration. Therefore, the individual UW and WTC
schools do not need to complete this form. I have added a few more questions this year. The new
questions relate to non-need based funds needy students use. Let me know if you have questions.
Thank you in advance for providing this very helpful and important information!
